The Axis attack first.
The German 97th Army Corps is trying to advance towards Ljubljana and attacking the previously already liberated town of Ilirska Bistrica.
May 6th 1945
18 thousand soldiers and officers plus three generals, among them General Ludwig Kübler, the commander of German forces in Slovensko Primorje and Istra, were captured after fierce battles, especially around the Šembije village. The surrender document was signed in the village of Zagorje, northeast of Ilirska Bistrica.
