The Partisans attack first.
May 8th 1945
Both armored vehicles, the assault company and the entire 3rd Battalion of the Kokrški detachment entered the city of Celovec in the early morning, escorted and followed by advancing British tanks, while the 2nd Battalion and some officers arrived by train. The Partisans occupied the Jesuit barracks and the Celovec Gestapo.
