The Partisans attack first.
June 18th 1944
As the Headquarters of the 31st Division learns that German units are gathering in the Sava and Selška valley, they realize that an offensive is coming and they change their plans.
They descended into the valley south from Jelovica and attacked the enemy outposts and railway between Kranj and Otoče. The attack wasn’t entirely successful, but they still managed to destroy 5 bridges on the way.
