The Partisans attack first.
Descend from the Mežaklja plateau into the suburb of Jesenice with the 7th France Prešeren Brigade and liberate the prisoners in the labor camp.
July 20th 1944
The brigade recruited 400 workers from the camp but 140 of them ran away when they were attacked in Mežaklja by the Germans. There were about 50 Frenchmen among the recruits, later they established a special French company within the 16th Janko Premrl – Vojko’s brigade.
