November 19th 1943
A part of the 17th brigade, alongside the leadership of the brigade and of the division occupied the Topolovo village where they were counterattacked by troops from the “Le Fort” enemy defence unit. Political commissar of the brigade Slavko Federl and political commissar of the division Rudi Mahnič – Brkinc perished in the battle.
