The Partisans attack first.
The Kokrški Partisan Detachment, aided by the 1st Battalion of the Koroški Detachment, was able to conquer the enemy outpost in Bistrica v Rožu and the local railway station and post office. Then they neutralized a gendarmerie station in Sveče and forced the crew of an SS train to surrender.
May 7th 1945
They captured 40 SS soldiers, at least 20 were killed and the rest escaped during the night, while the Partisans only had a few dead and/or wounded. That day, at least 300 enemy soldiers and officers in total were captured in Bistrica
