“The partisans attack first.”
The Cankar battalion learns that the Nazis intend to expel more people from the Poljanska valley, so they occupy the village of Poljane. They set up an ambush on the road to Škofja Loka and destroy the enemy reinforcements.
Historical background:
December 25th 1941
The Axis forces initiate an offensive action. They manage to enter the village with their armored vehicles, however the reinforcements fall into the partisans’ ambush. They had 35 causalties and 43 wounded.
