April 28th 1942
The 1st Grenadier Regiment in Kočevje was ordered to search the area of Jelenov žleb. The avant-garde of the Blackshirts was attacked by a Partisan patrol of the Ljubo Šercer battalion, but when the entire unit came to their help, it was attacked by a second Partisan patrol.
