The Axis attack first.
May 11th 1945
Intending to surrender to the Allied forces instead to the Partisan army, commanders of the German and Home Guard forces attempt an attack on Borovlje. 5 German artillery batteries, 20 tanks and two Home Guards strike battalions start attacking the Bračič’s brigade that withdrew to the left Drava bank and continued to defend the bridge. 180 fighters were killed in fierce battles.
