The Axis troops attack first.

Stop the advance of a German division as a fighter of the 1st Soška Brigade.
The Republic of Kobarid was a liberated territory around Kobarid in NW Slovenia, proclaimed as such by the rebellious Primorci people on 10th September 1943, just two days after the capitulation of Italy.

The Republic of Kobarid stretched from the Baška Grapa ravine in the east to the Julian Alps and Bovec in the north, from the Rezija foothills and Slavia Friulana in the west to the Gorizia Hills in the south on about 400km2.

Battalions of the 1st and 2nd Soška Brigades, consisting of Western Slovenians, former internees and war prisoners and even about 70 British soldiers, previously POWs who escaped from Italian war camps and joined Slovenian Partisans, are trying to resist the attack of the German 162nd Division from Čedad/Cividale. Attackers had to retreat while the Partisans confiscated 12 rifles, two pistols and a lot of gear and ammunition.
